Finance controller with NGO and grant reporting experience
Do you have financial management experience and control & reporting qualification of projects within the NGO sector? Are you good at distance working and capacity building of people from different professions and cultures? Can you present complex financial information and procedures clearly to non-financial staff? If so, you may be our new Finance Controller.
You will be part of the HQ finance teamand mainly provide finance control, budget support, and reports to ensure donor compliance with focus on certain countries and in collaboration with both finance and non-finance colleagues. This implies that you will be responsible for monitoring some field accounting and reporting and provide support and capacity building to field finance staff.
You will also have tasks related to the HQ accounting and provide ongoing support to the Finance and Administration Director. As part of the group of Controller group, you will also contribute to mutual sparring, quality assurance and capacity building among the group of HQ controllers.
We expect you to have:
- Higher education qualification in accounting and finance management or business management. Qualified accountant (CA / CIMA or recognised equivalent) is an advantage
- At least, five years post qualification experience as controller
- A proven track record in successfully working with distance collaboration and capacity building
- Good collaboration skills, with experience of providing support within a multi-disciplined, multi-cultural team, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills with sensitivity to cultural differences
- Ability to present information and concepts clearly to non-financial staff, both verbally and in writing. Fluency in English, spoken and written required. French is an asset
Experience of NGO accounting, controlling, and grant reporting, use of Business Central (or equivalent), Power-BI and Microsoft Power Apps are some advantages.
